Donetsk Hosts the First Novy Svet Ball.
On 25 September, the Donbass Palace hotel hosted the first Novy Svet Ball. The centre of Donetsk turned into a real glamour capital. Red carpets, well-groomed military school students in full white uniform, and a crowd of gawkers near the Donbass Palace, that’s how spectacular and large-scale it was, and that’s how the first Novy Svet Ball has made it into the history of the city.
The Ball had live music playing, with the special programme prepared by the Donbass Soloists Chamber Orchestra.
Debutants of the Ball (young couples aged from 17 to 21) opened the evening with polonaise, and then dances of the European programme were performed in turn. There were also traditional ballroom games, such as Breeze, Rivulet, and Forfeits.
As part of the Ball, there was also a charity auction of objects of art, with the raised money given to an orphanage, as well as an exhibition of handmade designer hats by the milliners Lubov and Alina Ivashinenko.
First dance. Debutants were taken out to the first ball dance personally by Mr. Litvinov and his female partner.
